Default Combining PvP and PvE

It would be great fun if we could combine PvE and PvP.

One way to do it would be to stage fights in PvE instances. So you'd have the usual suspects - the computer generated monsters. You'd have the usual goals - completing the mission. But you would also have a competing team in the instance.

As you tried to complete the mission, you could be ambused by the other PvP team ... or you could ambush them. I know this is dangerously similar to some other games.

But it has the advantage for the programmers of using existing instances. And since you'd just fight one competing team in that instance - it wouldn't be crawling with every player in the game - bandwidth wouldn't be a huge problem.

Do I think this will happen - no. But it would sure be exciting to add in the unexpected and the unpredictable, the human element.

I am sure somone will point it out.. that PvE arena has been suggested many times before.

How about a Mission, that by some event or another (like you are force to fight in a pit), that you need to fight your way out/in (by becoming the pit chump in order to challenge the "boss"), and have you fight several arena fight with NPCs in your small 4 men/women team. Sorta like the Arena in Fable. After the Mission, you can still go back and fight randomly pick NPC mob team.. or even face human player from time to time.

As for PvPvE arena... I did wrote a post on that too... with a niffty map as well.

Another idea for PvPvE Mission might be where you and another team must compete against one another (cann't attack each other, but can do something to hinder them), and race to one goal of sort, with mob in the way. Can either make the loosing team loose the mission, or just have the winning team get some sort of bonus in the later pure PvE part of the mission (and the looser team with out). However, this might make the mission hard to play if not enough people are around, so should make it an optional side mission, and not a main plot progressional one.
